Luosto Aurora Chalet Design your own

My partner and I have just come back from 7 nights in Luosto and it was absolutely great. The activites provide a truely once in a life time experience. The Aurora Chalet provided us with a warm friendly environment with great food and a s sauna in our room which was much needed after being outside in -25 degrees. We had a go at all the activities from snow shoeing to snowmobiling and husky safaries. You couldn't fault a single thing, The equipment was all there and of good quality, everything ran like clock work. We chilled out after diner every night by hiking up the sky slope with sledges and a little tipple to watch the lights. We saw the lights three times in the first two nights of our holiday. Its surprising how much fun there is to be had in Luosto considering its size. I cannot recommend this holiday enough for anybody looking to do something different and have a once in a life time experience.

Overall Holiday Rating: Excellent. I enjoyed the activities immensely but the snowmobiles and huskies were the best. We had an excellent guide (Jouni) who spoke good English and allowed everyone to progress at their own speed. He did everything to introduce us to the Finnish way of life and arranged additional activities such as a helicopter trip, building a snow shelter and another snowmobile trip.

Our guide Jaakko was excellent throughout, plus also with the airport situation re;- snow in England Jaakko made sure we were looked after and to help with the long delay, we checked our bags in and Jaakko took us back to the hotel for a couple of hours, we then returned to find a further delay of another 5 hours he offered to collect again and bring us back in his own time. His skills & knowledge were superb, very nice person we hope to book again one day soon. Our favourite activity was Snowmobiling, the scenery and visiting the snow village , although every day was fantastic. We would look at rebooking more of the Snowmobile activity next time.

We had a fabulous time. The guide we had, Marko, was superb. he looked after us all week and we really got a flavour of life in Finland from him. Please let them know how good he was. The food and the service in the hotel were top quality.

We would say that this was probably the best holiday we have ever had! We are already looking at booking with you again in the future and would go back to Luosto without a second thought. As someone that was always happy to lay on a beach I am now a complete convert! The hotel was intimate, the rooms comfortable & we were very glad we had a room with a fireplace ( nothing like watching the snow falling outside whilst snuggled in your room with a roaring fire) and the food was wonderful. We loved all the activities, especially the Husky safari, snowmobiling & snow shoeing ( we even hired our own after going out with Snowgames ) After 3 days of non-stop snow & the forecast for more of the same we were a little worried that we would miss out on the lights, but on our 4th night the skies cleared after dinner and we were treated to a 2 hour display of beautifull green dancing lights! And a huge thank you for the champagne or our last evening for my husbands 30th birthday when we were out on our Teepee dinner experience - it made his evening!
